Fast, Safe Emergency Access When Seconds Count
The Hanson Fire Department is proud to offer a free Senior Lock Box Program to our residents. In a medical or fire emergency, every second matters. This program allows first responders to enter your home quickly and safely without causing damage to your doors or windows if you are unable to let us in.
How It Works
Apply & Provide Keys: Once your application is approved, you will provide us with a spare key (or keys) to your home.
Secure Installation: A secure lock box is placed at your residence to hold your keys safely.
Emergency Response: Our dispatch computer system securely stores the exact location of your lock box and its unique access code. If we are called to your home for an emergency and cannot get inside, responding crews are immediately notified of the code so they can gain entry and provide help.
Your Security is Our Priority
We take your privacy and security seriously. The lock box code is completely secured within our dispatch system. It is only accessed and transmitted to our crews when there is an active emergency response to your specific address.
Moving or Selling Your Home?
The lock box remains the property of the fire department. If you sell your home or move out of the residence, please notify us so we can safely remove the box, return your keys, and update our emergency response system.
