- Daily Burning Hours: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Fires must be completely extinguished by 4:00 PM)
How to Get Your Permit

-Cost: $20.00 + $2.00 processing fee. - Option 2: In-Person
-Visit the Fire Station to pay by check or money order.
-Note: NO CASH will be accepted. Credit cards are accepted in-person but will still incur the $2.00 processing fee.
Open Air Burning Regulations:
- You must call the burning Permit Line at 781-293-9571, select option 5, or select you are burning today on the each day you wish to burn.
- DO NOT CALL BEFORE 9:00 am
- Burning must be done between 10:00 am and COMPLETELY OUT by 4:00 pm.
- Burning may only be done at the address written on the permit.
- Burning must be brush only, generated on the residential land listed on your permit.
- Burning is only allowed on residential parcels of land.
- Burning for commercial or land clearing purposes is prohibited.
- Fire must be 75 feet from any structure including fences and outbuildings.
- Fires must be attended at all times.
- Water, shovels, rakes, or other equipment must be on hand to control the fire at all times.
Open burning is allowed between January 15th and May 1st.**DEPENDING ON WEATHER CONDITIONS.
The following conditions are strictly prohibited:
- Burning without first calling in or selecting you are burning through the every day you wish to burn.
- Burning on dry, windy days or during periods of dry weather.
- Burning grass, rubbish, hay, leaves, tires, or building materials.
- Burning on commercial, business, or industrial land.
- Burning in connection with land clearing.
Violation of any part of these regulations will result in immediate revocation of this permit and a possible $50.00 fine.
