The Whitman-Hanson Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a regional volunteer organization dedicated to improving the safety and resilience of our communities. Comprised of residents from both Whitman and Hanson, our team serves as a vital “force multiplier” for professional public safety agencies during major disasters and community events.
Our Mission
When large-scale emergencies occur—such as blizzards, hurricanes, or extended power outages—police and fire departments can be stretched to their limits. The mission of the Whitman-Hanson CERT is to step in and provide critical auxiliary support, allowing professional first responders to focus on the most immediate life-threatening situations.
