Is there a Fee for my Smoke/CO Detector Inspection?

Yes, it is a $50 fee for the certificate; it can be paid the day of the inspection by check or money order payable to “The Town of Hanson” or by credit card for an additional $2 fee.

How long is a Certificate of Compliance for my CO Detectors and Smoke Alarms good for once inspected?

60 Days.

I had a fire at my home or vehicle, and my insurance company says I need to obtain a fire report.

You can obtain a building or car fire report by stopping at Headquarters: 505 Liberty St, Hanson, MA, during regular business hours, or submit a Public Records Request online ( Under forms select “Public Records Request”).

Does the Fire Department check to see if I properly installed my car seat?

Yes, please fill out the car seat inspection form under “Forms” to schedule an inspection.
