Life-Saving Skills for Our Community
The Hanson Fire Department is dedicated to empowering residents and local professionals with the skills needed to save lives. We are proud to offer a variety of CPR and first aid courses taught by our own AHA-certified Basic Life Support (BLS) instructors.
Available Courses
Whether you are a healthcare professional needing certification or a community member wanting to be prepared for an emergency, we offer classes tailored to your needs:
Heartsaver: Comprehensive CPR and AED training for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory, or other requirements.
Hands-Only CPR: A quick, effective method of CPR without mouth-to-mouth breaths, ideal for teens and adults to learn the basics of immediate bystander intervention.
Choking: Focused instruction on how to recognize and relieve a choking emergency in adults, children, and infants.
BLS for Healthcare Providers: Advanced CPR, AED, and basic cardiovascular life support skills specifically designed for healthcare professionals and first responders.
Requesting a Private Class
If your group or organization is interested in requesting a class, please submit an inquiry. Please note the following guidelines:
Approval Process: All private class requests undergo an internal approval process.
Availability: Classes are contingent upon the department’s current budget allowances and the availability of our instructors.
Flexibility: We ask that requesting groups remain flexible regarding available class dates and class sizes.
Certification Cards & Payment
If your requested course issues an official AHA certification card, the cost of the card must be paid directly to the training center. The department will provide you with all necessary registration information and current pricing details once your class is approved.
Free Community CPR Classes
On occasion, we hold free community CPR classes that are open to the public. Whenever these are scheduled, we will announce them right here on this page and across our official social media channels. Check back frequently for upcoming dates!
