Emergency Medical Services

Advanced Life Support & Pre-Hospital Care

At the Hanson Fire Department, our commitment to public safety extends far beyond fire suppression. We provide top-tier Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the residents and visitors of Hanson, ensuring that professional medical help is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Hanson Fire EMS

The Hanson Advantage: 100% Paramedic Staffing

What sets our department apart is our level of qualification.
Every single firefighter at the Hanson Fire Department is a certified Paramedic.

This means that regardless of who arrives at your door or which vehicle pulls up to the scene, you are receiving care from a highly trained provider capable of administering Advanced Life Support (ALS). From cardiac monitoring and medication administration to advanced airway management, our crew brings the emergency room capabilities to you.

Our Fleet & Response Model

To maximize efficiency and response times, HFD utilizes a cross-staffing model. Our personnel are dual-trained to operate both heavy fire apparatus and ambulances, allowing us to deploy the right resources for every specific emergency.

  • Front-Line Response: We operate two front-line ambulances equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology for daily emergency response.
  • Operational Depth: We maintain one mechanical spare ambulance in ready reserve to ensure there is never a gap in service during maintenance or repairs.
  • Medical Equipment on Fire Apparatus: Because seconds count, all HFD fire trucks and support vehicles carry essential medical equipment. If a fire engine is closer to a medical emergency than the ambulance, our Paramedics can arrive on the engine and begin life-saving treatment immediately while the transport unit is en route.

Community Event Safety

The Hanson Fire Department is proud to support our local community beyond emergency calls. We provide specialized EMS detail services for sporting events and public gatherings. Our presence ensures that athletes and attendees have immediate access to medical care during high-attendance local events.

In an Emergency

Always dial 911 for medical emergencies. Chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden weakness, severe injury, or unconsciousness requires immediate professional attention.
